QAhoy mate! The Coastal Explorer is your ticket to natural Australian
beauty. Begin in the bustling city of Brisbane, cut through the Outback to the coast, relax
on sun-kissed Hamilton Island, cruise to the Great Barrier Reef, and explore the rainforest
and aboriginal culture. All the while, indulge yourself in luxurious resort and hotel
Day 1 – Arrive in Brisbane
Upon arriving in Brisbane, a guide will meet you and bring you to your hotel. You can spend the remainder of your
day relaxing or exploring the capital city of Queensland, the “Sunshine State”.
Day 2 – Brisbane to Proserpine
Board The Sunlander to begin your journey to the Whitsunday Islands off the central coast of Queensland. Travel in
style in Queenslander class with gourmet meals, a private cabin and exemplary Aussie service. Plus, enjoy an excellent
view of the open, rugged countryside.
Day 3 – Hamilton Island
The Sunlander will arrive in the friendly town of Proserpine, from where you will depart for Hamilton Island. Essentially
a sunken mountain, the island offers slender white sand beaches, world-class coral reefs, delightfully blue waters and
lightly forested, rocky landscapes. Unwind by an island pool or beach and catch dinner – pick a casual seaside restaurant
or a fine Aussie dinner with a glass of wine.
Day 4 & 5 – Hamilton Island
Spend two more days at leisure with endless activities. You can golf, whale watch, snorkel, cruise along the Great
Barrier Reef, bushwalk in search of wildlife, bowl, play tennis, kayak, fish, sail, enjoy a spa treatment and much
Day 6 – Airlie Beach
Return to the mainland and spend the night at Airlie Beach. This tropical town will keep you entertained with crocodile
safaris, great restaurants and boutique shopping. A large jellyfish population normally keeps anyone from swimming
without a stinger suit, but a lifeguarded lagoon makes up for it.
Day 7 – Proserpine to Cairns
Get an early start on The Sunlander and head for Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Before sinking into
comfortable accommodations, stop by the glass Cairns Wildlife Dome on top of the iconic Reef Hotel Casino. You’ll be
up close to kookaburras, frogmouths, pythons, koalas and wallabies.
Day 8 – Great Barrier Reef Cruise
Travel on Quicksilver's wave-piercing catamaran to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Choose to dive, snorkel
or view abundant sea life from the underwater observatory, a semi-submersible submarine.
Day 9 – Rainforest, Kuranda & Aboriginal Experience
Take the Kuranda Scenic Train to see the highlights of Cairns. After your neck gets tired from admiring the towering
rainforest, experience a “Dreamtime” walk with an aboriginal guide.
Day 10 – Depart Cairns
Enjoy the remainder of your Australian getaway before a guide transfers you to the airport for your flight home.
